What is Google Sites & What is Google Sites used for?

In generall, Google Sites is a Google service that helps you create a website. You can use the freely available web service to create a fast and interactive website with just a few clicks. You do not need any HTML knowledge for this!

This is one of the best hidden features in your new G suite account, and it's an easy way to make your company modern.

By default, Sites uses the WYSIWYG editor. Its interface is also suitable for advanced users who want to manually edit the HTML code.

Since 2008, Google Sites has been part of Google's suite of apps, when it was launched as a simple website builder. The basic version looked like that of Google Docs and this resulted in its less popularity.

Then, at the end of 2016, Google re: designed Google Sites, which gave it the same design as the new Google Forms. It uses many modern website features such as a column design, which makes it easy to create your site layout. All tools in this sidebar, or when you select the text, the well-organized popup menu is organized with the menu.



Both app versions are still available-you can choose which editor you want to use when creating a new site.  The new design is very intelligent and advanced, and it is easy to use, while the old version includes some additional features that include the option to change the page track so that you can go back to the previous version.

In any way, they are both a great way to make the website quickly for your team.

How to make a Website with Google Sites:

Creating a new website for a common user may seem impossible and hard. For the new users, this is something, that will spoil your life's few hours, few weeks or months.

However, with the new re: designed Google Sites. You can easily create a complete website for free in a few minutes.

Since, Google Sites is Google's service, so before you go to create a website here, you must first sign in for your Google Account or sign up for a new account.

Once you sign in with your account and create your new site, you can choose a theme and manage the site's content, settings and appearance. You can adjust your site and update it often to keep your ideas fresh and relevant.

Make Website On Google Sites:

On your computer, open Google Sites.

If you are not already logged in to your Google Account, log in.

Click the Got it button below.

Now to create a new site on the bottom right click the + plus icon.

Now a blank screen will open in front of you.

Now you can add the following content to your site -

1) Add a title:

You can add title to your site at the top left corner of the editor window - this is the name you will see inside the Google Sites app to edit your site.

2) Add a Logo:

After this, you can add a logo to your site.

Click on the name of your site on the top left corner.

Now you will see the Add Logo's button below it, click on it.

Now you can upload a logo from your computer.

3) Add Welcome Banner:

Then, you can add a welcome message in the top banner - or if you do not want to include any text here, delete this text.  Click on the banner, and you can select a new image for the background or upload your own.  You can also choose a large banner or just a page title.

4) Add text and other media to your page:

Now you can add content to your page.  From right of the Insert menu, you can add text or images, or embed a link from another site.  In Google Sites you can change the size of the images and crop them.  In its text editor, you can quickly format from the menu that pops up when you choose standard keyboard shortcuts or text.

You can Edit the title and all the headings from the editor menu.

5) Create a multi-column layout:

Do you want to add several columns in your layout, in which you want to put together the group of images or want to show your product features on one location?

Just double-click on any blank space on your page, and the Google Sites Magical Circle menu will be opened.

Choose what you want to add to, and it will appear in a new column just below where you clicked.

6) Add Extra Elements to Your Page:

You can also add additional elements on your page, such as: Youtube videos, Google maps, Google Calendar events, Google form forms, charts from Sheets Spreadsheets, etc.  Select the type of item that you want to insert, and you will see a docs-style popover where you can search for it and then select it to insert it into a new section of your page.

This is an easy way to create landing pages or create live reports with embedded presentations and spreadsheets.  You can use it to create a website for the team project.

7) Add pages to your Google Site website:

If you also want Extra Pages on your site, you can easily add it. You can make your site with multiple pages.

Extra pages can be edited from the second tab in the right toolbar.  Next, add a title to your page and it will be automatically added to the header menu of your site.  And if you want to copy something from page to page, simply select that section of your site, press Ctrl + C, then paste it on a new page.  You can drag them to change the order of these pages.

8) Publish your site:

Now it's the time to publish your site.

Click the Publish button at the bottom of the column. Enter a unique URL for your site and open it at
(for example) sites.google.com/view/YourSiteName.
